Intro to North-East Line

The North-East MRT Line (NEL) is the third Mass Rapid Transit line in Singapore. I think it is also the world’s second longest fully underground, automated and driverless, rapid transit line after Singapore’s Circle MRT Line.  Travelling from one end of this line to the other end only takes 33 minutes. Purple is the color to identify this line.

Interesting fact is that this line created as Singapore is opening up more places in building houses. This line practically serves the new estates that Singapore is creating for its growing population to link them to the city central.

Some heritage sites are located along this line, the famous Chinatown, Little India and Clarke Quay.

Read on and find out what is the interesting findings in each of the station 🙂
